Ever wondered why some become wealthy and others struggle? Moreover why those who acquire wealth tend to keep it and those who struggle financially often find themselves in struggle after struggle?
It may surprise you to learn that there is often a pattern to increasing wealth and also to staying in poverty. Of course there are exceptions but on the whole there are timeless secrets to growing income exponentially.
Have you ever heard the saying let it go and give it a chance to come back to you when referring to something you want? or that the tighter you squeeze a sponge the less it will have the space to absorb what you want it to absorb? same is true of money.
THE LAW OF MONEY
Money is a neutral entity but as to whether it grows or diminishes is completely and utterly down to the attitude of its keeper. There seems to be a principle in life that too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing. In this case: too much money itself is not a bad thing, however too much emphasis on it is detrimental. There are natural boundaries at play in this world to protect against the misuse of a particular thing. An unhealthy view of food for example, presents itself as health and weight problems. An unbalanced attitude towards rest could end up looking like a life glued to the TV and reliance upon constant entertainment as escape. On the other spectrum, too much work ends up manifesting as burnout eventually. The secret to life is balance and the secret to balance is wisdom. Wisdom regarding finance is the right attitude.
In order to see money grow you must not prioritise it above people. People have a RIDICULOUSLY high value, much more so than money and so they must always be treated accordingly. Thats your family, friends, acquaintances, strangers, rich and poor. Especially the poor. If you put them first, you honour God. This means that your attitude towards money should be one of generosity. Take care of those in need and the promise is you will be taken care of.
Work diligently. Realise that the same rain falls on us all. The rain of opportunity, the snow of winter and the rays of summer. The harvest does not come to those who need it but to those who have SOWN SEED.
Lets me share with you a story...
The same rain fell on 2 fields next to each other. Both farmers had waited expectantly for it. The difference is one starts to reap a harvest, the other sees not even a spout. Why? Well to understand that I will have to tell you what each man did before the rain came. The first man had worked in preparation by chopping down weeds, ploughing the ground and sowing seed. The second man just hoped there was seed already beneath the soil, as he hadn't the time or energy to spend ensuring there was. There were far too many immediate things to take care of. He said to himself 'I must take care of the food I have now. Its enough work in itself. I have worked too hard for all of this and deserve a rest and some enjoyment'. He knew the rain must be coming soon to water his future crop but he just hoped for the chance of favour. He relied on the rain for his next crop as much as the first. Only one become poor and the other rich.
THE LOTTERY MENTALITY
Nowadays too many people have a lottery mentality, desiring something for nothing, or at least for the most minimum amount possible. A quick payment for the least amount of effort is their absolute dream. They hope to win the lottery, to be supported financially, treated by friends to name a few.
THE DIFFERENCE...
Lets take those two farmers I mentioned and place them into another scenario. They are now brothers. The first has been studying money, sees the needs of the world and cannot help but be generous, whilst also actively looking for ways to grow the money he has. He uses one pound and sets its destiny to make at least 2 of itself back again after its spent. The second brother is the happy go lucky type. He'd say he's a good guy, deserves nice things. Like his brother. However he never seems to have the money to invest in his dreams, or go on those trips or buy the things he needs. Says he would give more away if he had the money but that day doesn't appear to be nearing. He doesn't keep track of his pounds, as well he doesn't have enough for what he 'needs' anyway. Both brothers inherit £1,000,000 each from their deceased Father. The first brother sets some aside for investment, sends other coins to work, strategically placing them where they can bring more back in and assigning some to given to others and to be used on his own living. He distributes the money wisely. The second brother was just as thankful, he couldn't believe the beak-through in finance he was receiving. All these years of struggle and now finally his life was changing around. He went out and brought all the things he had always wanted. Not only that, but much more than he had previously wanted. Something in the past he would have spend a certain amount on, he would now spend 10 times the amount for it, because he was able to. He also gave generously to others however he lost track of all he was spending, and the snow ball eventually caught up with him. It was gone! All of it! He couldn't keep up maintenance on his house or make its payments and all that he brought got taken away to pay his debts. Meanwhile his brother had become a MULTI-millionaire. With much more than he was given.
MORAL...
The moral to the story is if someone with a bad money mindset gets given provision, if he has no plan, insight or discipline for it, it will fritter away as he has not the skill to become wealthy. What good is money in the hand of a fool.
So wealth boils down to skill, time, effort. There is no quick fix and if it seems that way- beware. There are no shortcuts. wealth requires wisdom.
